Research Nexus Publication (RENP) Journal Platform

1. Purpose of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board of the Research Nexus Publication (RENP) Journal Platform provides academic leadership, strategic guidance, and quality oversight for each hosted journal within the platform. The Board supports the editorial management of the journals and ensures that all publications maintain high standards of scholarly quality, ethical integrity, and international academic visibility. Editorial Board Members contribute their expertise to strengthen the peer-review process, guide editorial decisions, and support the long-term development and credibility of RENP journals.

2. Structure of the Editorial Board

Each RENP hosted journal may include the following editorial roles:

  • Editor-in-Chief
  • Associate Editor(s)
  • Section Editor(s)
  • Editorial Board Members
  • Advisory Board Members (where applicable)

The composition of the Editorial Board reflects a balance of disciplinary expertise, academic credibility, research productivity, and international representation.

3. Eligibility Criteria

Individuals considered for appointment to the Editorial Board are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • Possess a strong record of peer-reviewed scholarly publications.
  • Demonstrate subject expertise that aligns with the scope and focus of the journal.
  • Have familiarity with peer review and academic editorial processes.
  • Uphold recognised standards of research integrity and publication ethics.

Scholars with significant research contributions and strong academic reputations may be invited to join the Editorial Board.

4. Roles and Responsibilities

Editorial Board Members play an important role in supporting the editorial operations of the journal. Members are expected to:

  • Review assigned manuscripts within their area of expertise.
  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
  • Assist the editorial team in maintaining the quality and academic standards of the journal.
  • Recommend qualified peer reviewers when necessary.
  • Support editorial decision-making when requested by the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Promote the journal within their academic and professional networks.

Editorial Board Members must maintain strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and all editorial communications.

5. Ethical Standards

Editorial Board Members are required to adhere to recognised international standards of publication ethics. Members must:

  • Evaluate manuscripts fairly and objectively based on academic merit.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest in editorial activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and reviewer information.
  • Support ethical publishing practices and report any suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or research misconduct.

6. Term of Appointment

Editorial Board membership is typically granted for a fixed term of two to three years. Membership may be renewed based on:

  • Continued relevance of the member’s expertise to the journal’s scope
  • Active participation in peer-review and editorial activities
  • Contribution to the development and promotion of the journal

7. Remuneration

Editorial Board membership is considered an honorary academic service role and does not normally attract direct financial remuneration. However, Editorial Board Members may receive professional recognition and non-monetary incentives, including:

  • Formal listing on the journal’s official website
  • Certificates acknowledging editorial service
  • Opportunities to participate in special issues or editorial initiatives
  • Eligibility for complimentary publication waivers as outlined in the journal’s Editorial Incentive Program

8. Conflict of Interest

Editorial Board Members must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their editorial judgement. Members should recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts arise, including situations involving:

  • Personal relationships with authors
  • Institutional affiliations with authors
  • Financial or academic competition related to the research

9. Resignation or Removal

Editorial Board Members may resign from their position by providing written notice to the editorial office. The journal reserves the right to remove members from the Editorial Board in cases of:

  • Persistent non-participation in editorial or review activities
  • Failure to respond to editorial communications
  • Violation of ethical standards or professional conduct

10. Policy Amendments

The Research Nexus Publication (RENP) Journal Platform reserves the right to amend this policy when necessary to align with evolving standards in scholarly publishing and editorial governance. Updated versions of this policy will be published on the journal website.

Editorial Board Incentives and Recognition

The Research Nexus Publication (RENP) Journal Platform recognises the valuable contributions of Editorial Board Members in supporting the journal’s academic development, maintaining publication quality, and strengthening the peer-review process. In appreciation of their service and commitment to the advancement of scholarly publishing, RENP provides several incentives and professional recognition opportunities for Editorial Board Members.

1. Complimentary Article Publication (APC Waivers)

Editorial Board Members are eligible to receive three (3) complimentary Article Processing Charge (APC) waivers per year for manuscripts submitted to any RENP hosted journal. These APC waivers allow Editorial Board Members to publish their research without paying the standard publication fee. All manuscripts submitted by Editorial Board Members will continue to undergo the standard editorial screening and independent peer-review process to ensure fairness, transparency, and academic integrity.

2. Professional Recognition on the Journal Website

Editorial Board Members are formally recognised on the RENP Journal website as part of the journal’s editorial leadership. The listing typically includes:

  • Full name
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Country
  • Area of expertise

This recognition enhances the member’s academic visibility and professional profile within the international research community.

3. Editorial Service Certificates

Editorial Board Members may receive official certificates of editorial service acknowledging their contribution to the development and quality assurance of RENP journals. These certificates may be used for:

  • Academic promotion and professional evaluation
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) documentation
  • Institutional reporting of scholarly service
  • Professional recognition within the academic community

4. Special Issue and Guest Editing Opportunities

Editorial Board Members may be invited to serve as Guest Editors or Special Issue Editors for thematic issues related to emerging research areas within their field of expertise. These opportunities allow Editorial Board Members to:

  • Lead thematic research discussions
  • Collaborate with international researchers
  • Contribute to the strategic development of RENP journals

5. Editorial Advancement Opportunities

Editorial Board Members who demonstrate strong commitment and active participation in the journal’s editorial activities may be considered for advanced editorial roles such as:
