Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Research Nexus Publication Journal (RENP Journal) are expected to adhere to the highest ethical and academic standards. Authors must ensure that their research is original, well-documented, and conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines to uphold the integrity of the publication process.

Before submission, authors are required to:

1. Originality and Exclusivity

• Authors must confirm that their manuscript is entirely original and has not been published previously in any form.
• The work must not be under consideration by another journal or conference at the time of submission.
• Any data, text, or ideas derived from other sources must be properly cited and referenced to avoid plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

2. Copyright and Permissions

• Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions to use copyrighted materials, including images, tables, figures, datasets, and third-party content.
• If the manuscript contains material that is not the author’s original work, proper attribution and written permission from the copyright holder must be obtained.
• Any potential copyright concerns should be disclosed to the editorial team during submission.

3. Authorship and Contributions

• Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research, including conception, design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or manuscript writing.
• All listed authors must have reviewed and agreed to the final version of the manuscript before submission.
• Individuals who contributed to the research in minor ways (e.g., providing administrative support or technical assistance) should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgment section but not listed as authors.
• Any changes to authorship (such as addition, removal, or reordering of authors) must be justified and approved by all co-authors before acceptance.

4. Ethical Compliance in Research

• Research involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data must comply with ethical standards and be approved by an institutional review board (IRB) or an appropriate ethics committee.
• For studies involving human participants, authors must obtain informed consent from subjects or their legal representatives.
• Animal research must follow internationally recognized ethical guidelines, such as the ARRIVE (Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments) guidelines or the U.S. Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
• Authors must disclose any potential ethical concerns or risks associated with their research methodology.

Editorial Review and Desk Rejection

The Research Nexus Publication Journal (RENP Journal) upholds a stringent editorial review process to maintain high scholarly standards. The review process is structured into five key sections to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to determine their suitability for further peer review. This process evaluates:

• Relevance to the journal's scope – The manuscript must align with the aims and subject areas of RENP Journals.
• Adherence to submission guidelines – Formatting, referencing, and word count must comply with journal standards.
• Plagiarism check – Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality.
• Language clarity and readability – Poorly written manuscripts may be rejected or sent back for revision before further review.

Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic criteria may be desk rejected at this stage, and authors will be notified accordingly.

2. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review, where two or more experts in the relevant field assess:

• Scientific and methodological rigor – The study design, research methods, and data analysis must be robust and sound.
• Originality and contribution – The manuscript should offer novel insights or advancements in its field.
• Logical structure and coherence – The arguments and findings should be well-organized and clearly presented.
• Appropriate citation and references – The manuscript must properly acknowledge previous research and sources.

Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial team makes a decision on whether to accept, revise, or reject the manuscript.

3. Editorial Decision and Revisions

After peer review, the editorial board considers reviewer comments and makes one of the following decisions:

• Accepted without changes – The manuscript is ready for publication.
• Accepted with minor revisions – Authors must make minor adjustments as suggested by reviewers before final approval.
• Major revisions required – Authors must address significant concerns and resubmit their revised manuscript for further review.
• Rejected – The manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards or fails to address key reviewer concerns.

Authors are given a deadline to submit their revisions, and failure to do so may result in withdrawal of the manuscript.

4. Final Proofreading and Publication

Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes final proofreading and formatting to ensure:

• Consistency in formatting and referencing
• Accuracy in figures, tables, and citations
• Correction of typographical or grammatical errors

Authors are provided with proof copies for final approval before the manuscript is published in the journal.

5. Desk Rejection Criteria

The editorial team reserves the right to desk reject a manuscript at any stage if it:

• Falls outside the journal’s scope and subject areas
• Contains plagiarized or previously published content
• Shows poor research methodology or lacks sufficient data to support claims

• Is written in poor academic English that hampers readability and comprehension

Authors will be notified of desk rejection decisions along with a brief explanation, where applicable.

Before submitting your manuscript, ensure compliance with the following:

• Originality: The manuscript must not have been published previously or be under consideration elsewhere. If the submission is an extension of prior work (e.g., conference papers), authors must provide a clear explanation and reference the original work.
• Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
• Language: Submissions must be written in clear, professional English. Authors are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited if necessary.
• Text Formatting:
• Single-spaced text using a 12-point, readable font (e.g., Times New Roman).
• Use consistent formatting for headings, subheadings, and references.
• Include a concise title, abstract (200–300 words), and keywords (4–6).
• Figures and Tables: All illustrations, figures, and tables should be embedded in the text at appropriate locations. Each figure and table must have a caption and be clearly numbered.
• References: Provide full citation details using a standard referencing style (e.g., APA 7 edition) as specified by the journal. URLs or DOIs must be included where applicable.

• Instructions for ensuring a blind review have been followed.
• Necessary copyright permissions for any material/data not owned by the author have been obtained, and a copy of the permission must be attached.
• Conflicts of interest are declared, bio-data are provided, and sources of funding for the research are acknowledged.

Authorship should be based on the following criteria:

• Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
• Drafting or revising the work critically for important intellectual content.
• Final approval of the version to be published.
• Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the research.

For consortium submissions, all author names and affiliations should be listed in accordance with the provided journal template.

• Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word format.
• The preferred length for research articles is around 5,000 words, including the reference list. Shorter contributions are welcomed, and longer articles may also be considered for publication.
• Manuscripts should be formatted according to the provided template, with pages numbered consecutively.

6. Manuscript Submission Steps

Authors must follow these steps when submitting their manuscripts:

1. Register/Login on the RENP Journal’s online submission platform.
2. Complete the Submission Form, including details of the corresponding author and all co-authors.
3. Upload Manuscript and Supporting Files, including cover letter, figures, tables, ethical approval documents (if applicable), and supplementary materials.
4. Confirm Compliance with Journal Policies by reviewing all guidelines and checklist requirements before submission.
5. Submit the Manuscript and await an official confirmation email from the editorial office.

Article Processing Charge (APC)  and Publication Fees

RENP Journal is committed to ensuring affordable and accessible publishing while maintaining high editorial and production standards. Authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $30 USD upon acceptance of their manuscript.

APC Payment Process:

• Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, the corresponding author must complete the APC payment within two (2) days to secure placement in the upcoming issue.
• The APC covers essential publication costs, including peer review management, editorial processing, and digital archiving.
• Failure to complete the payment within the stipulated timeframe may result in delays or removal from the issue.

APC Waivers and Discounts:

RENP Journal recognizes the financial constraints faced by some researchers. Fee waivers or discounts may be considered on a case-by-case basis for authors from low-income countries or in exceptional circumstances upon request.

• Authors who wish to have a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) assigned to their article must pay an additional $5 USD fee.
